🇰🇬 Sary-Chelek — The Pearl of the Western Tien Shan

Sary-Chelek is one of the most scenic and protected areas of Kyrgyzstan. A national biosphere reserve with alpine meadows, crystal-clear lakes, and rich biodiversity.

  • Location: Jalal-Abad region, western Kyrgyzstan
  • Type: reserve and mountain lake
  • Elevation: around 1,900 m above sea level
  • Lake area: 7.5 km²
  • Accessibility: open from spring to autumn

🌊 Sary-Chelek Lake

A deep, cold lake with a rich blue color, surrounded by mountains and forest. One of the cleanest lakes in the country.

🗻 Nature Reserve

Home to rare animals and plants: snow leopards, brown bears, spruce and walnut forests.

🚶 Hiking Trails

Scenic treks to nearby smaller lakes. Overnight camping possible in the wilderness.

🍽 Local Cuisine:

Perfect for nature lovers, photo tours, and peaceful getaways. Few tourists, making it a quiet and secluded destination.
